What to Enter:

Photographs must have been shot by the entrant within the contest period (May 1, 2009 - August 7, 2009).

Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. If our judges see that a photographer has obviously
altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject's parent or guardian and provide
it to Spartan Bookstore upon request. A sample release is available HERE.

Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.

How to Enter:

Please submit photographs online through our website at www.spartanbookstore.com. Or vie email to spartanbookstoreevents@spartanshops.sjsu.edu.
When submitting photographs, please include full name and current contact information.

Only registered SJSU students qualify to enter. Employees of Spartan Shops are not eligible to enter.

We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail. Entrant may submit no more than three (3) photographs. We do not accept more than one contestant per
e-mail address.

High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Use the on-line entry form on
our website. Complete a separate form for each photo submitted. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. Files submitted may not be larger than 800 kb.

By entering the contest, entrants grant Spartan Bookstore a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create
derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any Spartan Bookstore purpose, including, but not limited
to advertising and promotion of the Spartan Bookstore and its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Spartan Bookstore publications.
Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit. The Spartan Bookstore will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional
approval in connection with such uses.

Entry Deadline:

All entries must be received by Spartan Bookstore by 4pm Pacific Time, Friday, August 7, 2009.

Judging:

On a weekly basis, Spartan Bookstore judges will post the best of the incoming entries on a photo gallery on Spartan Bookstore's website.

Judging will be conducted by a Spartan Bookstore student/staff committee.

Six (6) finalists will be determined by this committee. Final outcome will be chosen by committee and online vote. Winning photographs and selected finalists will
be posted on Spartan Bookstore's website, on Facebook and announced via email to SJSU students/staff.

The six (6) finalists will be notified of their status by Monday, August 10, 2009. Finalists will be announced/posted Monday, August 10, 2009. Online voting will begin
Monday, August 10, 2009.

Online voting to be completed Monday, August 17, 2009. Winners will be announced Wednesday, August 19, 2009.

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Spartan Bookstore reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions
of Spartan Bookstore will be final.

Prizes:

1st Place: Free Semester of textbooks for Fall 2009 (up to a $500 value), 2nd Place: $200 Spartan Bookstore Gift Card, 3rd Place: $100 Spartan Bookstore Gift Card.
Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or credit. Gift card prizes cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. First prize winner must present valid Fall 2009 class schedule and
SJSU ID when redeeming prize. Winner must be a registered SJSU student to receive prize.
